Cindy's Story

In July 2017, I was the President of a P&C Association at my daughter’s state high school which was hit hard by the sudden loss of a much-loved teacher. The school was devastated and I desperately wanted to be an instrument of Christ’s love and support in their time of grief.

After praying, I was led to call on the support of local churches and parachurch organisations in the school community to help provide food, flowers and cards for the school staff for a week.

The impact of this initiative was significant. Neither the school nor the P&C had thought to call on churches in their community for support. The school leadership and P&C were surprised and humbled with the churches’ willingness to help and extend their love in a practical way in a time of need.

This opened the door to participate in even more significant acts of service to meet the school’s needs and develop authentic relationships with tangible demonstrations of Christ’s love.

This and other opportunities to share the love of Christ through collaborative caring support from the local churches led to the development and implementation of the HighLove Project.
