Baptised into new life

“On the first night in Roebourne I played some basketball with a bunch of local teenagers. They were all much better than me, but I was able to connect with a young man named David,” shares Nathan.

Roebourne is a small, largely indigenous community in WA’s remote North and Nathan had arrived in town earlier in the day with the YFC Mobile Mission Team after a long and rather eventful three day journey from Perth which you can read more about here.

“I spoke to David after the basketball game and he said that he has had a dream of Jesus but wasn’t sure about him,” Nathan continues.

He said that he has had a dream of Jesus but wasn’t sure about him…

“Over the next few days I was able to continue connecting with David. And on the Friday night outreach event he came forward with three of his friends to receive Jesus.

“As I led him in prayer he said he saw a vision of Jesus whilst having electricity flow through his body. Afterwards we talked for most of the evening about the Scriptures, community, the power of the Holy Spirit and baptism.”

The next day these four young men and some of their younger brothers were baptised in the ocean.

Knowing their time in town was coming to an end the team took every opportunity to equip these young believers – encouraging them to pray for their friends and stand boldly in their faith.

Seemingly everywhere we go we’re seeing young people ready to give their lives to Jesus.

God is at work in our nation. Seemingly everywhere we go we’re seeing young people ready to give their lives to Jesus. And thanks to your partnership in mission young Australians are discovering new life in Jesus. Please join us in praying for these young men as they continue growing in faith.

Now in Perth, the Mobile Mission Team feel God calling them back to Roebourne in the near future to continue investing in the community and discipling the youth as they stand for Jesus.
