Thanks to your generous support, young lives are being transformed in Australia and beyond.

Sophie came to Australia from Germany in 2016 as part of the ENGAGE ministry, an international volunteer program that empowers young Christians to serve with Youth for Christ in nations like Australia so they can return home better equipped for ministry.

Throughout her year in Australia, Sophie served in various ministries in NSW and Darwin, and attended YFC events like Jesus School.

“I met young people that were completely sold out for the Gospel like I’ve never seen before,” Sophie recalls.

“I remember one day we were going to buy some food and I was constantly waiting for them because they were praying for the sick or buying other people’s meals or sharing the Gospel.”

It was a deeply impactful year for Sophie and, by the end of it, she wrote…

“I can’t put into words how thankful I am. I saw God moving through me like never before. I enjoyed spending time with Him like never before. This year honestly changed my life!”

After Sophie returned to Germany, she was keen to share what she’d learned with her friends and her church. In July this year, she wrote to share what’s been happening:

“A couple of weeks after I arrived back in Germany, I went for a walk with one of my best friends. She asked me to tell her everything that I learned in Australia. So I got to talk to her about the goodness of God. She started crying and laughing and asked me why no one had told her earlier about that.

“I feel so incredibly blessed that God wants to use me here in Germany to build His Kingdom!

“We’ve started a Bible study at uni. We’re nine people from different denominations. Even though there are a lot of different theological points of view, I believe that this group is a picture of what God wants to do in the world. He wants the church to be one body. A lot of other students have been asking us about the Bible study and I believe that the university will be so impacted by the love that we have for one another.”
