Training

The Pais Movement will oversee your training starting with a 3-week intensive seminary-style conference before your placement in a local church in your chosen city.

You then receive continuous training throughout the year from Pais, your placement church and others. As well as 200 hours of seminary-style training, interns will join with Pais teams throughout the world and watch weekly interactive training videos called ‘Livewire’. You’ll be mentored bi-weekly by a Team Leader throughout the year and work through a specialised learning process after each piece of ministry.

Ministry

You will serve in the church in order to empower others. Throughout the week you will participate in various outreach opportunities – reach young people in community projects and schools, university students or adults within the business world. Pais Movement will set goals and standards and you will have objectives that will help you grow in your character and spiritual development.

Cost

The Pais mission year is free!

On acceptance a full scholarship valued at $10,400 is awarded free to all those joining Pais. This includes training, accommodation and meals.

Accommodation is typically with a host family at your church placement. You will have your own room and will be treated as a lodger although quite often you will rapidly become part of the family. You must provide your own spending money for personal items and travel to and from your placement city.

Participants are not eligible for Austudy payments.

YFC & PAIS

Youth for Christ Australia loves to partner with other ministries to further God’s Kingdom and to see youth living for Christ. We have partnered with with Pais movement to offer a quality training internship to Australians with a heart to serve in mission. The gap year itself is operated by Pais Movement who take responsibility for all aspects of the program. By signing up through Youth for Christ you will have access to YFC’s mission resources and opportunities regardless of whether your Pais Gap year application is approved. Ultimately our heart is to see you thrive as a child of God.
