Living in rural Australia, Harry often felt isolated in his spiritual journey until he found community through a simple social media post.

Although Harry grew up believing in God, at 24 he found himself confused about the Gospel and he knew he needed help to grow in his faith.

Then, one day, he came across a social media post inviting him to explore the teachings of Jesus with others. Intrigued, Harry decided to reach out, and he connected with a YFC missionary who invited him to an in-person Discovery Bible Study. Even though it was over four hours away, Harry knew this was an important step in his faith journey.

Social media is bridging the gap between isolated believers and discipleship communities.

This connection proved to be life-changing. It eventually led to Harry being baptised and meeting weekly with a Harvest disciple maker to study Scripture together.

Through this intentional discipleship, Harry’s faith has matured in incredible ways. More than just growing in knowledge, he has been activated to live missionally in the place where God has called him.

He now regularly starts meaningful "life question" conversations with people at the farm where he works, sharing the gospel boldly when the opportunity presents itself.

Harry’s transformation has gone full circle: not only has he grown into a passionate follower of Jesus, but he is now preparing to disciple someone who came to faith through an online connection.

This story is a testament to the growing harvest field of searching and spiritually open people of all ages, who, like Harry, lack connection to Christian community and discipleship.
