”I came expecting a camp, but I left with a mission. This has changed everything for me.”— Disciple Camp Participant
These powerful words reflect the heart of Disciple 2025 Camp, where 72 passionate believers, mostly young adults and families from across Australia, gathered in Adelaide for a transformative time of equipping and mobilising as disciple-makers.
Held in partnership with The Global Harvest and YWAM Adelaide, the camp focused on practical discipleship and sustainable mission—tools and training to help participants live out their faith in everyday life.
Though many arrived not knowing anyone, there was an overwhelming sense of connection and shared purpose. This strong unity of the Spirit culminated in Hope in the Hills, a community gathering with worship, prayer, and baptisms.

Hunger for Discipleship and deep Christian Connection
A theme that emerged repeatedly in conversations was the lack of discipleship many attendees had experienced in their own Christian journeys, some shared that no one had taught them how to read Scripture or empowered them to disciple others.
Others spoke of a deep longing for more meaningful Christian fellowship that spurs one another on in faith. Those more passionate about pursuing Christ spoke of feeling isolated and alone in their Christian network.
Unfortunately, this is a reality in too many Western churches today.
Shifting the Focus to Multiplication
“I’ve always known that I was supposed to share my faith, but I never understood that my role is to make disciple-makers, not just tell people about Jesus.” – Camp Participant
Some participants came to the camp thinking about discipleship primarily as personal spiritual growth. However, as they sat through sessions and participated in discussions, they quickly realised that the true goal of discipleship is multiplication.
This shift in mindset—toward a focus on multiplying disciples rather than merely making converts—was echoed by many participants. One attendee shared, “Discipleship has to be intentional and generational. If I only lead people to Christ but don’t equip them to lead others, I’m not fulfilling the Great Commission.”
This realisation was foundational. Christian maturity isn’t just about individual spiritual growth but about a communal mission to spread the gospel and raise up others to do the same.
Practical Tools for Mission
The camp also provided several practical tools to help participants engage in disciple-making.

Discovery Bible Studies was one of the most impactful sessions, with participants expressing excitement about how simple and effective it is for disciple-making. One shared, “I feel confident enough to start a Discovery Bible Study group when I get home. I have the tools, and I’m ready to use them.”
These tools, which some had never encountered before, equipped participants with tangible ways to share their faith in their daily lives with greater confidence.

A Wake-Up Call for Discipleship
A lot of people left the camp with a renewed sense of responsibility when it comes to discipleship. Many were surprised by how few Christians are actively making disciples. As one attendee admitted: “I assumed discipleship was the church’s job, not mine. Now I see that every believer is called to be a disciple-maker.”
It was a challenge for participants, but also a huge encouragement to take ownership of their role in the Great Commission.

A New Beginning Back Home
This camp wasn’t just an event— it was the beginning of something bigger, as young adults and families return to their communities, ready to take the gospel into the harvest.
The hunger for discipleship is growing.
And, after seeing the impact the event had on those who attended we’re hoping to hold similar gatherings in other parts of Australia in the near future.
Thanks for standing with us in this mission!
