LUNCHTIME PROGRAMS

Lunchtime Programs

Lunchtime programs are run in schools once a week as an extension to other YFC programs (particularly AusLife) for those students who have been encouraged and want more!

The overall aim is to give young people a whole picture of the Kingdom of God and for them to discover its relevance for their own life.

Topics covered include:

  • Belonging
  • Value of self
  • Relationships
  • Trust
  • Communication
  • Spirituality
  • Servanthood
  • Redemption/reconciliation

Each topic is worked through over a four week period with a specific aim for each week:

  • Fun
  • Hanging Out
  • Exploring Life
  • Belief

Outcomes for young people

  • Encourages and builds community by providing a place to belonging & be accepted.
  • Encourages discussion and exploration of issues important to young people.
  • Provides a context for leadership development with older students.
  • Provides a safe non-threatening context for young people to understand and discover God's Kingdom.
  • Engages young people in the process of exploring their spirituality and a relationship with Jesus.
  • Provides a stepping-stone for young people to become involved in Christian community. ie. Youth Groups.

Outcomes for the local church

  • Provides a context for the local church to engage in ongoing mission to young people.
  • Fosters an ongoing healthy working relationship between YFC and the local church.
  • Brings the local church and the school community together which fosters a healthier relationship and greater opportunities for mission in the school environment.
