Introduction

YFC’s vision of ‘every young person’ means we are involved with as many secondary schools as possible. This is the last real opportunity to reach an entire generation in the one place at the one time. Having been around for more than 60 years, YFC has developed a strong reputation for delivering excellent, professional programs and making students feel valued. Schools are keen for us to keep coming back week after week.

Discipleship is a big part of what we do, helping young people to grow as they follow Jesus. We’re always looking for ways to mentor students through positive Christian role models and also to encourage and equip them to introduce their peers to a loving God.

We connect with students over breakfast, lunch, in class time and after school through activities like sport, dance and interactive programs. Often there are volunteers from local churches who come along to get to know young people from their community.

Auslife

Auslife is a full day interactive and fast-paced seminar designed for senior high school students aged between 15 and 18. Auslife has a great reputation for engaging students in a compelling way, focused on values, relationships and challenges they face in everyday life. . . . .

One50 Dance

One50 Dance workshops are a creative arts program that teaches a blend of street funk and hip hop dance styles. It is an exciting and interactive Christian based dance program giving young people an opportunity to perform, choreograph, and participate in life skill activities, through the use of dance and other activity-based learning. One50 Dance workshops build self-confidence, self-respect, teamwork, leadership, and encourage healthy minds and healthy bodies. . . . .

Chaplaincy

We currently provide Christian Chaplains to government secondary schools where we get alongside the students offering them care, support and guidance through this challenging stage of life.

Mentoring and pastoral care is a big part of what we do, helping young people see their own intrinsic value and hopes for the future realized. Our Chaplains want to be positive role models to encourage and equip them and share the love of God through these relationships.

Ignite

The aim of Ignite is to work alongside young people supporting holistic transformation in all areas of their life. This includes the physical (training them in sport); emotional (setting up a safe environment for mentoring and counseling); psychological (encouraging positive self efficacy/belief); social (team/group building by providing safe, age appropriate events and camps); and spiritual (giving young people an opportunity to make informed decisions by exploring spirituality, in particular the Christian faith). We also believe in the importance of working with the families of the young people, to build stable supportive relationships.
