The Youth & Family Therapy program is offered to young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Primarily, the team offer counseling to youth and, if appropriate, to their families, with the sessions being determined on what the young person wishes to discuss. The sessions are often run outside the YFC office’s, in a space where the individual feels comfortable.
It is a priority to adapt the session according to the needs of the young people and not by a manual, so young people can come to the sessions feeling confidant that they will not be made to talk about, or be involved in, anything they do not wish to. The team find that if counseling is going to be productive then it has to client-focused.
The team aim to work along side each young person to help them work through their issues and better develop healthy and meaningful relationships with their families, friends and communities, where ever possible.
